Cathleen is a freelance multimedia, digital journalist and MA Emerging Media student at Boston University. She's interested in social norms and trends across online communities, particularly at the intersections of spirituality and technology. Before graduate school, she worked in audience development. She has experience in strategy, analytics, graphic design, videography, photography, content creation, and more.

Run social media accounts for both the Emerging Media Studies program (@emsatbu) and the Center for Mobile Communication Studies (@cmcsatbu). Create social media content like student spotlights, social cards, photos of campus, etc. for all accounts. Write weekly blog posts on relevant technology news for the Center for Mobile Communication Studies.

Developed comprehensive, realistic strategy for 22+ local newspapers, including the New Haven Register, Connecticut Post, Stamford Advocate, and Norwalk Hour. Led company-wide trainings in best practices and created dozens of posts a day. Produced original content to accompany projects, like social graphics and videos. Daily monitoring of brand accounts included engaging with readers, addressing issues, and watching metrics. Also, wrote on occasion, including one story that ran on the front page of the New Haven Register.

Monitored and published social media posts promoting stories and articles for NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune. Covered events via Facebook lives, Instagram stories, and Twitter. Created video and graphic social cards for relevant stories, events, and highlights. Photographed stories and events for the photo team. Built the Where NOLA Eats Facebook page up from scratch; 3.5K likes in less than three months.
